Create, Fit, Rig, Animate
Avastar helps content creators build and prepare Second Life avatars, Animesh characters, clothing, attachments, and animations inside Blender. The documentation is organized around practical workflows first, then detailed reference pages for individual tools and panels.
Avatar Creation
Create Avastar characters, work with the Second Life skeleton, inspect bones, and prepare meshes for upload.
Fitted Mesh
Use shape sliders, developer kits, weight tools, and fitting workflows to adapt clothing and attachments.
Rigging
Bind meshes, preserve joint positions, manage bone groups, and work with human or non-human rigs.
Animation
Pose characters, transfer motion, export animations, and understand animation priorities.
Start With Workflows
For task-oriented reading, begin with workflows. They describe the sequence of actions needed to complete a job, then link into reference documents where needed.
Use Reference For Details
For panels, operators, settings, and deeper technical background, use the Reference and Help sections.
Version Note
Avastar 3 is legacy documentation. It remains useful for Blender 2.8 through Blender 3.x workflows. The next documentation generation should become the Avastar 4 documentation and should be derived from the current code base where possible.
